Zanussi Nexus

Can't get the machine to start. All OK on connections/fuses etc.
Recently it has become more and more difficult to kick into action needing repeated twisting and clicking of control dial, sometimes needing 2 or 3 minutes.
Always been very slow on door release at end of cycle - could this be related to non starting??

sounds like door interlock-there are two types on lexus,3 and 4 terminals check b4 buying

when you check and refit your lock, make sure that you remember to reconnect the very tight black rubber tube to the bottom of the lock. if you dont know it's there you may remove the lock and it will come off without you realising. also if your machine has a neon light holder on the lock you'll have to keep your old one because it doesn't come with the new one.
finally never rotate your timer dial when the machine is powered up, you could bow the circuit board attached to t.

Thanks for prompt response guys. Will try replacing the door lock (and keeping eye out for rubber tube)
