I have gas central heating which works fine apart from one radiator that i have in the kitchen - it is a new radiator and has a thermostatic valve on it - however it appears not to be working as radiator is cold. the pipe leading up to the valve is red hot but no heat at all in the radiator. all the other radiators around the house are working fine, although they arn\\\'t new and don\\\'t have this valve on. is it the valve that is broken or can you suggest anything else to try? its awful on these cold mornings in the kitchen!!!

Helpless little lady :(

Does the pipe at the other end of the radiator get hot? If so radiator needs bleeding.

Could be the pin stuck in on the TRV Set the TRV to max and take the head off. If the pin doesnt push in [you will need something sturdy to push it in with] Then you can often release it with a pair of pliers, sometimes tapping it will free it.
Also possible that its fitted the wrong way round. Has it ever worked?
After that its probably down to an airlock or blockage
