new roof and planning?

Hi,

I've got a flat roof and want to change this to an apex, a roofer came in and checked the job he advised he can do a 30 degree slant with 4 by 3 joists. this will mean he won't need planning permission as this building already exists?

Is this the case or not?

ask your local BCO asking is free, getting it wrong is expensive

should be fine if its to the rear of the property and not blocking any neighbouring windows.
If its out the front then may need planning just give the planning office a ring as well as BC as this will almost certainly require their approval.
