Removing Polystyrene Coving- Please help

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Just bought a new flat and am redecorating. They have that horrid polystyrene coving up and it has cracks everywhere and I would love to get it off.

If anyone has any tips or could tell me how to do it thatwould be fantastic.

a scraper and a claw hammer does the job

are you sure it polystyrene?

I think so. It feels like it, what else could it be?

What do I do with the adhesive once i have the coving off.
