Double/Twin FCUs???
Reply with quote Thanks

Is it possible to get a double, preferably switched FCU. I need to connect electric oven and ignition for gas hob and have a double socket in place. Is this possible or will I have to remove the double socket and fit two single fcu units, I am trying to avoid this because the lack of clearance means that it must be flush not surface mounted and my walls are made of legendarily hard brick!!

Any other suggestions for a solution would be greatly appreciated.

Hard birck - any excuse - LMAO icon_lol.gif

No, you cant get a double FCU, although you can a 3 or 4 gang grid plate, and fit 20amp douple pole switches and fuse modules into it. Search for MK Grid, and MK Edge.

you can also get a metal wall box, a bit bigger than a double, which holds two single FCUs (or an FCU and a socket, or two switches, whatever)

Thats true - a dual box.

Although, he will still need to chop his "really hard bricks" icon_eek.gif

Cheers guys,

Like the idea of the dual box, if its a little bigger than the one in place for the twin socket then its just a little bit of brick chopping.

Any idea if I can pick one of these up in B&Q or suchlike? Or will I need to try somewhere a bit more specialised? If so know any in the Paisley/Glasgow area?

Found a couple of places online but dont fancy £15 for a box + 2 switched FCU. Seems kinda steep!

Again, thanks for the advice

You should be able to pick one up at B&Q or any of the DIY places. Called a a split metal box. Should cost about a quid!
