i (for my sins) used to fix washing m/c's the bearings cost very little, but unless you have a bearing puller / fitter, and assuming they come out in one piece (they sometimes collapesd) i would be inclined not to bother, it used to take me about an hour and i had the right tools.

get a new m/c and co not overload it, as this is what causes the seal to go, which lets in water whaich rusts the bearings.

when filling a m/c you should still be able to see the back of the drum across the top of the washing if you can't its overloaded
