washine machine just stopped

HI...

I was washing and my machine dial moved on its own all the way around once (clicking sound) then made a quick POP sound, then just stopped, with a sort of burning smell. The socket is working because I checked it with another appliance. No sure what the problem is. This was the first time I washed a load at 90deg I normally use only 40deg.

Make and model would help get some answers on this. Impossible to try and diagnose fault without it.

Sorry about that, Thank You... The make and model of the washing machine is INDESIT W123...

Check the mains filter capacitor for obvious damage or burning. Also check the large pcb (this controls everything on the machine). If the large pcb has any burning you'll need to replace it along with the correct eprom.
Not a cheap repair.
