Heating seems fine but hot water keeps going cold then hot then cold then ...etc. Nightmare for showers. I've asked countless people but nobody seems to know the problem. Anybody out there have any ideas? Thanks.

Sensor intermittently faulty or more likely scale/sludge in the domestic hot water heat exchanger. Get it descaled. Poor mains flow exacerbates - if your w supply is restricted or low pressure.

as chris said its poor circulation in the hot water circuit you only have to slow it down by a fraction to have problems on a 280, seners usually ok. open the drain tap at the base of the boiler , its a 17mm nipple, older models have two ,if black sludge comes out first then best contact an expert or worcester.
