Help- new smeg WDI 12C washer/dryer with hole in seal

Hi there
I've just unpacked my new washer/dryer and there is a round hole in the seal at the door. It's at the bottom of the door so I was wondering if it was supposed to be there as a drain so that water doesn't collect in the seal?

depends where the hole is

most seals do have a hole in the wall of the seal that goes back into the tub

there should not be a hole in bottom of the seal, but if in doubt read the manual
