hi,the power light is on the boiler but when i put the hot water or the central heating on by the timer or on continous you can hear the water pumps working but the boiler is not igniting can someone please help

what lights are on boiler exactly

just the power light is on and there is a fan,pilot, burner light.

could be several things then follow the fault finding in the book or if you havent got book here http://www.partsarena.com/baxi/

or preferably call a corgi registered engineer out to sort it

Diagnostics fairly lacking in any useful information

is the fan working ?

I presume not from the fact that the neon's not lit, but then the neon could be duff

Has it gone into lockout ?

that would mean that the lockout neon should be lit - unless it's duff

etc ...
