The TRV fitted onto the radiator is very very slowly (only just noticeable) leaking water from just above where the TRV is fitted to the radiator (there are little holes on the TRV where it meets the metal fitment). It has been doing this on and off for a couple of months, any ideas or is it worth leaving until the heating syatem is serviced in a couple of months

Sounds like you need to replace it. Wait until it is serviced and the engineer can replace it at the same time.
If you are staying in the property purchase a decent one Danfoss/Pegler they cost a bit more but are worth it.
