1. 18mm masonry.
2. You don`t have to seal water pipe through wall.
3. Weatherproof mastic/sand & cement.

Make sure you place a non return valve on pipework before tap.

16mm is enough for 15mm tubing, but sometimes I drill a 23/24mm hole and sleeve the 15mm tube in a short length of 22mm Hep2o pipe.

Or you could drill to 16mm and use one of these beauties:

Do you consider your opinion to be the definitive one on the topic, and that nobody else should be allowed to contribute?

Oh - did I not read your multiple posts properly? Did I miss the bit where you suggested a backplate combined with a copper tail?

BTW, not sealing a water pipe where it enters an outside wall is asking for trouble, and therefore very poor advice.

Did I suggest a backplate combined with a copper tail?.... show me..

and what is your trade...

A water pipe does not enter an outside wall... it exits

Why would I need to sleeve a waterpipe thru a wall?

No.

Show you what? The Edit button? The Spell Check button? The error of your ways? Please be specific.

and what is your trade...

What has that got to do with anything?

As you wish - enters, exits, who gives a sh*t - the principle is the same, and you're either stupid or deliberately misunderstanding, but neither is important as long as mikeyboy2 understood me.

If you read the topic you'll see that mikeyboy2 asked what type of casing to use. I didn't say that you, or indeed anyone, needed to sleeve it, I simply answered his question (with an answer, not another question).

No - I'm ignoring your question; there's a difference.

You can threaten me all you like; it doesn't make on iota of a difference to anyone or anything.

I have the right, as a forum member, to post. You, along with everyone else, have the right to ignore my posts.

Once again, your pathetic attempt to insult me is empty of all substance and meaning.

well now a GOOD competent plumber would use a large drill bit 24mm sleeve the pipe in the same material as is passing through the wall seal the entry/exit with a suitable material, fit internal isolation, fit the bibcock in such a way that the pipe empties when isolated inside to prevent possible freezing and do not forget a non return valve after the internal isolation.hope this helps
