DISHWASHER DOOR

I have a 2yr old integrated hotpoint dishwasher. the door wont close properly - its not clicking into place. when it was in warranty this happened and the hotpoint chap came and fixed it in seconds saying - this happens a lot - any ideas how i can do this without calling someone out ?

See if the feet need adjusting. If one of the feet is not level with the others, the "square" casing of the dishwasher will bend to a trapezium, and the square door will not fit it.

Have a look at the door lock mechanism. It may still be in the locked position.

thanks sleepyhead - i had a feeling that may be the case - do you know how I can fix this ?

Switch it off, get an allen key, hook the lock and pull it back into place.
Other than that it's a strip down job to reset it.

Does anybody know where I can get a good diagram of the door handle and latch for a Maytag dishwashe model MDB5600AWW? I have the replacement part I need but the factory diagram isn't detailed enough.
