cistern lever

I need to replace the cistern lever on the toilet and have just bought a universal cistern lever but it doesnt fit through the hole in the cistern. What do I do?

take you old one to a merchant and they should be able to supply you with a replacement

good job Im not touching any gas then...didnt know you could get gas in a toilet, apart from after a vindaloo!! icon_lol.gif
