I've searched the forum for the answer to this but can't find an answer.
I have a RANDALL 4033, when I turn on either hot water or heating nothing happens. I got another 4033 from the car boot which had an idiots guide with it. From this i tested all the wires and they all are live when they should be. The valve on the pipe coming out of the bottom of the tank is a HONEYWELL V4043H1056 ( no dimple, see learnt something!) It is a 2 port. Took the cover off and when I turn the switch (*) in the feed wire on and off the motor runs and I can see the arm moving until it hits the microswitch. The manual lever feels sloppy and I can't see if it moves anything. I cannot see if when the motor turns the actual valve!!
From what I have gleaned on here, shouldn't I have 2 valves? One for the heating and one for the water?
Just had a thought, turning the switch on the controller does not operate the valve!
(*) This switch which is next to the boiler and valve has a cable IN I assume from the controller, then between the switch and the valve is a junction box where the cable from the tank thermostat joins.
So where is my other valve if there is one, could it be the tank thermostat duff, and why when the switch next to the boiler is on and the valve opens (Which seems to me to be all the time no matter what the controller position is) doesn't the fire kick in?
Thanks in advance to you all, I've learnt a lot already.
