Radiator sizes

I have a large (8ft) double radiator on my landing and was wondering if it's simple enough to replace it with a double smaller radiator?

Is there any reason to have it so big?

What size would I bee looking at for the landing of this size?

Why do you want to change it? Landing too warm/too cold?

Can u change the pipework yourself? If not, you would need one the same size and same type so the pipes line up.

How big is the landing (including the stair well)?

How big is the radiator (width and height)? Is it really 8 foot - that sounds huge.

Is there a reason for changing it other than that its too hot? You could just stick a rad-valve on it set to 18C if that were the reason.
