Help! I have stupidly done a bad thing. What I thought was bleeding the radiator I have emptying a lot of water from one. How can I reseolve this matter?

Does your cental heating system have a small water tank in the loft (the "feed and expansion cistern?")
This will be about a one foot cube, much smaller that the cold water tank that supplies your bath.
Or does the boiler have a "pressure gauge" and/or a "filling loop?" Has the boiler stopped working?
What colour was the water that came out of the radiator, and, how much came out?
