I have a randall 103 timer that is broken. I would like to replace it for one that I can use to control the heating and water seperately. Also I have seen the 5/2 day timers available. My connections are 2 reds connected at point 1. A red and yellow wire connected on the spare. Pin 3 has a live link from pin 6. Can anyone give advice. First is it possible to have the water and heating seperate. Second can anyone reccomend a timer that would be suitable and not cost the earth. Thanks

We need to know lots more about your system - boiler , valves etc and how old. Probably the HW is heated by gravity crirculatio - if so you will only be able ot have CH on if HW is on too.

a 103 converion is tricky, so ok, you will need E,N,L to main , then e.n.l and switch live. but before we go there is your system fully pumped? can you get your heating on without your hot water or do you need to have your hot water on before you can out the heating on, i think the randel 103 is hotwater top off middle and heating and h/w on the bottom
