High power setting no longer works

I have an Opal 10.5kw shower unit and the high power setting no longer works. When selected the unit looks to reset itself as though it has just been powered on. The cold and warm settings work fine, although with the colder weather the warm setting does not heat the water sufficiently enough. Any idea why this setting no longer works?

high failing with medium and low working doesn't sound like an element problem (typically with an element problem you lose high and one other setting)

could be a bad connection somewhere that is just about good enough for the shower to keep working on medium but not good enough for it to work on high.

could be a water pressure problem leading to inadequate water to keep the element teperature safe on high.

It might be worth giving the shower head a good clean. If it's a bit bunged up with limescale etc it could reduce the flow rate enough to stop the high setting working. At least it won't cost a lot to give it a try.
