My out side drain that takes my sink waste and washing machine waste has blocked.I am in a row of 4 terraced being one of the middle two.The waste was slowly draining away but now has come to a total stop.I have plunged it by hand the water goes a dark colour and smells soap powdery is there any thing i can put down the drain to try and loosen it.
Many thanks

Try using a mop as a plunger!

Apart from that it could need rodding backover from the manhole or maybe from a rodding eye.

Theres a lot of cheap drain rods kicking about now so be careful what you buy. The cheap ones from wickes seem to be ok though

Dont waste your money on chemicals no matter how good the adverts look. I have never seen them work on anything apart from the blockage they show you in the ads
