Have a 10 month old baby who needs a bath so I'm thinking of taking on my first bit of plumbing! I've taken out the shower tray and hand basin that were in bathroom and left all pipes in place. It would be a bit of a bodge job but can I fit pipes to the original handbasin pipes and connect new tapes, then use the waste pipe from original handbasin? The pipes are quite small but bathroom downstairs so waterpressure not too bad.

you should have a 22mm piped hot tap to a bath...it will take an eternity to fill otherwise. Also your sink waste should be 40mm for a bath and 32mm for a basin.
