for some reason i have hot water but there is no heating. the thermostat is up high and i hear the pump going but it just wont seem to light for the heating only the water...a couple of weeks ago i had to bleed all the rad\\\'s upstairs because they were only hot at the bottom. i got loads of air out of them and they worked fine then a few days ago the heating just wouldn come on.i hear the pump going when i move the switch over but it doesnt light. i have a vaillant boiler not sure exactly which but the user guide lists a number of turbomax models.. the pressure and everything is fine but still no heating just hot water..any suggestions as to what i could do...many thanks ben

yes the water is topped up. the pressure is fine. everything seems to be fine it just wont seem to light for the heating. thanks

If you had to go round all the upstairs rads and bled them and got 'loads of air out' as you say, then I think there's probably an air lock somewhere. Have you tried bleeding the Pump as well?

Also interested in this. I developed exactly the same fault last night.
Boiler is a Vailant TurboMax Plus Combi.

well it turns out it was a faulty PCB board which a plumber came and changed so everything is fine now

Hiya. we have a Thorn Olympus boiler. Last week, it seemed that the thermostat wasn't working, heating was either on HOT or nothing. Now, we can't seem to get any heating at all but we have hot water. The dial on the front of the boiler goes up to 5, nothing on 4 so changed it to 5 this morning, boiler fired up but still no heating.

Any ideas would be much appreciated
