Hi all, just finishing my video projector project, I had to make a few holes in the wall to feed the 2.5mm t&e cable down to a fcu..the thing is where I have filled the voids and all other filling I have done (over old removed picture hooks etc) when you paint over it's always very obvious as the sanded filler always come out very smooth compaired to the painted finish on the plasterboard...which looks slightly mottled.

Any help appreciated as always :D

Try touching in the filled area's with your paint first and go over with a small roller to get a mottled effect, may need several goes, then paint whole wall ..
