We have a brick chimney breast and would like to paint it to match the walls using emulsion paint as a top coat if possible. Before we take the plunge could anyone advise us on the correct procedure?
Give it a good clean down, get yourself some alkali resisting primer...thin it down by about 305 and coat the wall with that first, bricks can be difficult to paint but the primer will give to a decent grounding for the emulsion.
