Noticed increase in noise coming in around the corners of my UPVC bedroom windows. UPVC window seals do not seem in too bad condition, not much draught either. Recently had fascia boards and soffits replaced - soffits are now VENTILATED but were not before, could this be causing the problem? Loft is not well insulated and I have been told that re-insulating both loft floor and roof rafters will help the noise. Any thoughts? |

Insulation will dampen noise that’s coming from the out side of the house. It sounds like the new soffit vents are letting in the noise in the roof and then coming in from the ceiling. I would insulate it if that was me.
Insulation will also cut down your heating bills. |
