My Whirlpool ADG 993 dishwasher won't start. Start button just keeps flashing (never done this before).

Can't be fuse as start button lighting. Have checked that it is correctly shut.

Any more suggestions?

It's flashing an error code. Count the flashes between pauses (only has a 1 sec pause). Let us know the outcome.

Actually resolved it by keeping it pressed for 5 seconds...but there was about 2 seconds between flashes.

What was it trying to tell me if it happens again?

It's not the pause time, it's the number of flashes between pauses that indicates the error.

1 flash, or constant flashing, indicates a problem with the temperature sensor. Commonly called a feeler or NTC.
