The machine stopped dead half way through a wash cycle with the machine full of water. It tripped the house breaker.

I've reset the breaker, checked the socket and fuses but the machine is dead. No lights, nothing. Is there an internal fuse in this machine I need to find?

Its not the carbon brushes because these were replaced last year.

Any other ideas. My other problem is I live in New Zealand and there are not any service dealers here!

The first things to check are your on/off switch, door lock and wiring to motor.

Forgot the tell you to check the support. A common fault with this model is the drum support splitting causing the drum to rub against the heater and then tripping. This is what you have to do.

1. empty drum
2. pull the inner drum towards the front and each point of the inner paddles. you should be able to tell in one of the support legs is broken as it will be loose.

If it is broken you would have to replace the support and heater but it is quite a big job and requires an appliance strip down.
