I am fitting a new Bosch built in double oven
(5.5KW) which will be more than 2m away from
the original cooker switch. Is it ok to replace the cooker switch with a 45amp JBox and move the switch closer to the cooker.
Then from the switch to the cooker with 6mm
flex. |

If the original cable that fed the old cooker is up to the job of supplying the new cooker AND you use a backbox buried/surface mounted with a blank lid on (so the connection of old and new cable can be accessed) then yes you can extend the cable as long as it isnt so far away from the supply (fuse/consumer unit) to cause excessive volt drop.
This 6mm flex......do you have it already?? __________________ 17th Edition..here we come!

Largest flex is 4. __________________ As George Michael once said, "..if you're gonna do it, do it right, right?" |
