Exploded Pen in Clothes Dryer!
Reply with quote Thanks

Earlier I put a jacket into my drying machine in order to "iron" it before I went out. Unfortunately though, a ballpoint pen was in one of the pockets and it exploded while the jacket was drying.
There are spotted ink stains all over the inside of the dryer and we can't seem to get it out.

First we tried rubbing alcohol, but it only removed the surface of the stain and smeared it a little. Next we tried a Clorox Bleach pen and it didn't work. We also tried shaving cream because someone suggested that. It didn't work either.

Any suggestions on what to try next?

Half a lemon dipped in salt, use like a sponge to rub ink off.

Remove Stain from Inside Dryer
Reply with quote Thanks

Had the same thing happen to me last week - took me two hours to clean the inside of the dryer but I used Bar Keeper's Friend (like Comet) - scrubbed away pretty easily but my dryer was absolutely covered in blue ink.

Pen Explosion

This is what is working for me, as I am taking a break from cleaning my dryer as we speak. Comet and H20 puddled on bottem of the dryer. I rotate the dryer so the puddle sets on a new spot every minute or so. SCRUB WITH THE DRYER! Going with the circle is much more effective than going from front to back. I can't explain why but it works. I am just using a standard dish sponge using the coarse side. Good luck all!
