I'm going to be honest here and say that I do not know the first thing about how washing machines work or about plumming.

My washing machine has suddenly stopped spinning. It seems to go through the cycles ok as the cycle counter turns clockwise, but it just will not spin.

Does anybody know what could be the problem and if so think that this would be repairable for somebody with no eperience, or should I call for somebody that knows what they are doing, and in either case how much would it cost?

When the cycle finishes I'm left with the bottom of my washing soaking wet and the top bone dry.

The model I have is an Indesit WG 1033T or WG 1233T.

Any help would be much appreciated.

First check there's no blockages or kinks in the outlet hose. If the machine can't pump enough water out it probably won't spin.

doubt its that, since the drum doesnt move at all because the top of washing is dry.

since the OP is not confident i suggest call a w/m engineer
