mains socket in porch

can u install a mains socket in the porch? does it need 2 b IP rated or a normal socket? cheers 4 advice

sure you can, if the porch is enclosed a normal socket will be fine but if it is open to the elements then an IP rated one will be needed.

cheers, socket is on the same porch wall as the gas & electric meters(meters are in porch) so should be ok with normal socket
