One in three Brits injure themselves doing DIY

With another bank holiday weekend fast approaching many Brits will be turning their attention to a DIY project. According to a nationwide poll, today (May 2nd) at 2.30pm is the most popular time to start a project before the May bank holiday gets underway.

In pursuit of DIY perfection, there are often hiccups along the way.  The poll by online electrical retailer AO.com, of 2000 Brits discovered that on average over 30% had injured themselves while improving their homes. The most accident-prone area was Scotland (40%) followed closely by Yorkshire (37%), whereas the least accident-prone was the South West (24%) and East England (26%).

The study also found that Brits spend £70 billion on DIY every year and that 53% of those polled had argued with their partner as a result of doing DIY.
