Appendix 6 of the wiring regulations BS 7671 gives 3 types of model forms, electrical contracting companies and membership schemes run by NICEIC and ECA etc have their own versions of these forms but should be based on the examples given in the wiring regulations.


The three forms of certification are; an Electrical Installation Certificate, a Minor Electrical installation Works certificate, an Electrical Installation Condition Report, the first two are used to certify that an installation is satisfactory for continued use, the report cannot be used to certify any work, this is issued following a periodic inspection and deturmine whether an installation is satisfactory for continued use, the report cannot be used to certify someone elses work or comply with the requirements of part P of the building regulations to generate a buildings compliance notice held by the local authority.
