Public`s :rolleyes: Hope you`re not doing English @ Uni. :LOL: :LOL: Good luck from a 1 "O " level plumber ;)

Yea, but you're probably from an age when edyoukashun meant education.

Your 1 "O" level is probably equivalent to a modern degree.

I believe Nige F is completely correct and you are wrong . Apostrophes would be in correct here as there is no missing letter.

Why do you think otherwise ?

possessive apostrophe.

It's not just used to indicate a missing letter, I'm afraid.

If we're being pedants, "incorrect" is all one word, and there should be no space before the full stop or question mark at the end of your sentence.

You cannot comment on his punctuation, you are using the back quote key instead of the apostrophe key. :rolleyes:
WTF is a back quote :confused: did you do a Pitmans typing course :LOL: . My one O level was English in 1979 :LOL: >>>Got you all going ...that`s my Raisin D`ester:cool: I`ll fill out his form as " it Won`t " take long. I`ll just finish reading Easts shoots and leaves :)

Where was the word 'incorrect' used in the above posts John?

@johnD

Agree about incorrect and the full stop - ham-fisted typing :oops:

Still don't agree about the apostrophe. There is nothing possessive in this usage and I have never seen anything except quotation marks around "O " level which I take to mean this is not just the letter O.

Have certainly never seen it with apostrophes.

Having just looked it up in Wiki, that gives no extra punctuation except hyphenation, so perhaps a question of individual usage.

@JohnD

I think we are at cross purposes. I agree with you about public's perception.

My comments all ( see my last post)refer to the quotation marks around "O" Level.

See what you've done now Nige? You come along here with your smart-ass o-level and all Hell breaks loose.
