I am thinking of installing a sink within my (detached) garage for cleaning muddy boots etc. For this I will need to install a new foul waste pipe and a fresh water pipe for a distance of about 8 meters. I know the foul waste is notifiable and needs to conform to part H of the building regs but I cannot find any information on fresh water pipes.
So I would like to know if there exist any regulations covering the fresh water pipe, or can I install it however I want. Specifically would it be permissible to put both the fresh and foul pipes in the same trench and if there a minimum spacing required? There does not appear to be any information in part H regarding spacing of fresh and foul.
What I would ideally like to do is tee off the main supply pipe between the meter and where it goes into the house (the meter is on my land and is only about 2 feet from the outside wall of the house, It would be easier to tee off the other side of the meter but I know that won't be allowed for obvious reasons). I'd rather not dig up the kitchen floor if I can avoid it.
