I have multiple vertically meandering hairline cracks mainly centred to the back of the house (Internal platered and painted walls) this part was extended I believe 15-20 Years ago.
These are hairline cracks not easily visible and .1 mm width and vary in length from 1ft to 3 ft....they start from top of of the wall near celling and come down... and looking horizontaly start from diffrent distances from the door, it looks like they have been painted on and have re-appeared. The previous owner got plastering done to the property about 5 years ago. There is also a bit of damp in the extension of the property where there is a door to the garden.. The main concentration of these hairline cracks is in bathroom and open plan kitchen dinner both get a lot of moister..
Outside the property has not a single scratch but there is sign of differential historic movement between the new extension and property as said by the surveyor.
There is also hairline cracks on the ground floor rooms celling longish dissconnected from each other but around the same area.. once again the cracks are about 1ft to 3ft long but .1mm in width....
I have been looking all round the house and i see some longish .1mm line cracks arounds stairs wall as well as there is two cracks on the ither side of loft access.
Also on the downstairs there is a crack on the door edge of the dining room which goes straight upwards not diagonal again .1mm goes up to the almost straight.
I have been worrying to much all are hairlines .1mm but long.... what can be the cause the Damp near the outside garden door or plastering wrong or the conifer hedge around the garden... I would appreciate help or advice and also if some body has similar case ?
