Hello guys,

I'm in the process of pricing up the radiators for a 3 bed semi. I haven't worked out the BTU required yet but can anyone make any recommendations on the best place to get standard radiators. I'm guessing they shall be double panel rads.

i'm after quality / economy balance on the rads if there is such a thing as always on a tight budget.

Much appreciated

If you are always on a tight budget then that indicates you are just mean!

The best value is obtained by correctly sizing the rads FIRST and avoiding mistakes which cost more to put right later.

Have you made a Will yet to direct all the money you are saving up to be distributed after you die?

They shall not unnecessarily be doubles , indeed the single panels of past days are still available , and may cost less £ for the same output as a double

Centrebrand from plumbcentre are a good cheapish rad and is actually 2 styles in one ,it can have the grills fitted or remove the grills and turn upside down and its a roll top rad.

Thanks Tony,

i'm trying to complete my house to move into in March, 5 days before I'm loosing my job. I only have a certain amount of money in which to finish the house. I should have worded my original post stating I'm after the best value available for the money I'm spending, not that I'm wanting something for nothing. Each product I buy I have to source at the best price else the money I do have left would be gone, just like that.

Nobody else thought you wanted the work done for nothing, only Tony , but he is really , really odd.

Selco.

Single panel convectors (fins on the back) usually provide most kW/£.
Many UK delivery services are incapable of delivering anything without battering it into scrap first. I think you'd save time by collecting them.

Screwfix are usually v. well parcelled up. Wickes, who I have only recently started buying rads from as Screwfix are often out of stock, deliver their rads strapped to a pallet.

If the packaging is damaged, just reject the delivery.
