It's a brick cavity. The cable will be going from the inside to the outside. I was just thinking of some protection if at some point the walls get insulated.
There seems a bit of conflicting opinion when running a cable through a cavity.
Some sites seem to advise using conduit to protect the cable against cavity insulation but then others say not to use conduit because it will bridge the cavity can potentially cause damp.
