Wireless programmer not Linking to boiler

Morning All

I have a query relating to my existing central heating system. We have a Worcester Greenstar 30 cdi combi boiler with rads to the majority of the house controlled by a Drayton +2RF wireless programmer and underfloor heating to the kitchen controlled by a spereate wireless programmer. The system is about 4 years old.

The issue is the Drayton programmer now only intermittently connects to the boiler so heating is not functioning (I have checked the batteries). The wife is doing her nut as we have a 14 week old baby in the house and it is now starting to get cold over night.

So my queries are:
1) What is the easiest way to replace the programmer and is it a job a non technical person could tackle?
2) What programmer should I replace it with?
3) Is there a way to get the heating on in the meantime?

Or should I just call an electrician/plumber and get them to sort it, which I would rather not do?

i had the same prob last wk with a digistat 2+RF the reciever said the heating was on but it wasn't sending the signal to the boiler, ended up replacing the room stat & the reciever (they come pre-paired in the box), trace the wires from the reciever to the boiler & using a multimeter make sure you have 240v coming from the reciever, i then removed the two reciever wires from the boiler & connected the two terminal together heating switched straight on so knackered reciever (funny this one was 4 yrs old too), if you need to replace it go to your local city plumbing their iflo one is the same stat re-badged & much cheaper

to override there is a button on the receiver, this can be used to the prob is fixed.
have you tried pairing the stat and the receiver? i would try this first but if they do need replacing its only a 5min job (swapping like for like)

if ya don't wish to attempt it bg do a fix price repairs but would prob fall into the £199 price band

to pair the stat and the receiver
-Turn the power off at the spur and remove batteries from the stat.
-Switch power back on, then press and hold both buttons on the receiver, should flash red then stay illuminated.
-Let go and put the batteries back in the stat and turn the stat up and down and see if the receiver responds

if the reciever is faulty then pressing the over ride button won't do anything, if the green light comes on when the stat is calling then they are paired, like i said the iflo (city plumbing) is exactly the same stat & reciever just cheaper so it is a straight swap with no wiring to do.

ya right if the receiver is shot it wont override but where does the op state that the the receiver is getting a signal and the green light is on? if the stat is at fault you can override at the receiver.
imo if the batterys been out and he has more than 1 wireless control i think pairing the 2 is worth a shot!

glad i could help, i'm not sure if drayton make all the iflo stuff but the MA1 mid postion valve & the digistat 2 are just re-badged & about 2/3rd the price

Thanks for the help guys, am going to tackle myself will try the Iflo as cheaper!!

Went to city plumbing and the programmer cost same as Drayton product £109 which is a shame, they must of put their prices up.
