SWMBO has decided after decorating that the above mentioned thermostat looks yellow against the new gloss so if I replace it is there a difference in performance in the old fashioned one or digital one's.

Fit a programmable digital room stat.
An hour ago I fitted a Honeywell CM907. A bit more moola, but I'm convinced it will be worth it. I got a good deal, can't say how much for fear of peeing off the pros.
I hope to recoup the cost and save s*** loads of cash now I'm a dole-wallah.
Well, I will be soon.
