Positive Discrimination - Positive Action

If either of my daughter's brought home a black fella,I wouldn't let him cross the threshold, positive or negative?

And what happens if ****a kinte from the mandinka tribe gets one of them up the duff?
You still gonna chase him?

He might have to. A high percentage of black fathers don't seem to want to stick around.
Ouch! No smilie...?

TBH this is fair ammo to RH'S opinion of some here... Can't and won't thank you for that one. Not good :(

I know it's not good, BT. And coathanger is probably having palpitations as I type. Maybe I said what I said for a cheap laugh. But maybe, just maybe, there's more than a grain of truth in what I said. The evidence is all around us in British and US society. Joe has put the meat on the bone - I can only speak as I see. We shouldn't let ourselves be kowed by those that have let the preposterous, pretend it's not happening, gutless, lefty- loons be the arbiters of our thoughts and words.

The truth is often unpalatable, and flies in the face of what our masters  want us to believe.

I can do smileys, but it won't alter things.

I see racism in discussions like these. If I stated that most kiddie fiddlers are white males I'd be stating a fact and no one would complain that I'm racist. If someone states another statistic involving blacks in not such a good light the do gooders get a right huff on and call you racist. Why??

You make the opposite point well.

White racists don't extrapolate child abuse/murder stats to project what some white people do onto the entire white population.

However, they use negative examples of other cultures/ethnicity and project them on to those groups as a whole.

Confirmation bias, lack of critical reasoning, social conditioning etc etc play a part.

There is no logic to racism, it's just something you see in people who need to feel better about themselves by putting others down. People with good self esteem can be proud of themselves without putting others down.

It's tired, predictable and easy to recognise it for what it is , but worryingly through the ages, these kind of people are often manipulated by others due to their lack of reasoning abilities.

Fair play to the few posters who ,even on an anonymous Internet forum, recognise this and can hold to their principles.

Still ,seeing the true mindset of other posters gives a good insight into their agenda when making contributions in other debates.

It's called genetics. Blacks and Whites are different in many ways but this is a good example. Most White men eventually get married, have kids, etc.. that is their GOAL. Not with black guys. They want to impregnate as many women as possible. That is their GOAL.

Whites and blacks do not share the same cultures, values, etc... it's no surprise that so many ****as fail.

I am just picking this one out as an example of the lack of critical reasoning that racists have.

This issue is a complex mix of economics, social factors and individual choices.

Are you saying that all young white males stick with their partners and children?

If We find one that one doesn't , will you claim that it is genetic in that case?

Dear me.....

All races have their faults.
All races have their good points.

Unfortunately, for some reason it is not acceptable to point some of these out. There are those who would have us believe that we are all the same. A ridiculous suggestion.

This is why I am always careful to explain my belief that we should all have equal opportunities, rather than to suggest we are all equal. We are not and never will be: we are all different.
Ok, after my near heart attack I think I can post again.

There are differences, but do those differences mean one is superior or just different? And, does any difference mean that one is superior over the other?

Is one stronger? I have followed the Super heavyweight at the Olympics back to a hero of mine from Russia called Vasily Alexiev from circa 74. (All white). Same in my example of cycling. But go down a weigh and some here may remember Precious McEnsy. (Excuse my spelling). I think he could lift something like 3 times his own body weight!

More intelligent? No evidence to suggest either way?

Even if, big IF, one race is superior, (again what ever that means), is that any reason to be disrespectful or unloving towards them or vice versa?

Right can of worms been opened here...

Okay with that to a point JBR. But then you get into the realms of feeling superior over someone with a disability or gender difference. And before you know it, we're back in the dark ages.

Perhaps this post tells us something about your own self esteem ? or more likely, your over inflated ego

I would say we are all different but all are 'equal'.

In my context 'equal' does not mean being the 'same', but it means sharing the same respect, rights , responsibilities and opportunities .

Can't argue with that. Also..

"We shouldn't let ourselves be kowed by those that have let the preposterous, pretend it's not happening, gutless, lefty- loons be the arbiters of our thoughts and words."

Now that is something I wish I'd said!

Quite possibly, but the theory that the bully (who picks on others because they are different )suffers from low self esteem is standard fare. Open to debate though.

Have I struck a chord with you that led you to respond?

Perhaps you could help me with my self esteem and deflate my ego back to more manageable proportions by showing how my post led you to ask the question.

Of course we should challenge everything and reach our own conclusions.

Controlling thoughts and words has never been the preserve of the left or right, and it has often taken more guts to stand up for others than to keep an uneasy silence.

Yes Micilin, absolutely! I think this is what RH was trying on with me. You say something to which he (over) reacts like you just issued a fatwa on his family. This in turn makes you question what you've just said, (if you're young or insecure).

I think that a proportion of "racism" is in fact laziness or lack-of-intellectual capacity, on the part of the "racist"; not, borne of a sense of superiority.
Calling some a ginger / bald / black #### is possibly a simple descriptor for some. All of which are what we are born with; beyond our control.

What is it about the phrase "Positive discrimination" that seems to blind people as to its meaning.

Discrimination is Discrimination is Discrimination, and if based on colour or race, it's RACISM.

Adding the word Positive, does not dilute its meaning.

Sure I can help you. Read back your own contributions to these threads.

Why do You choose to support one group of posters over another. Why do attempt to belittle other posters when you don't agree with their post. Is it because you don't like 'these type' of people?

You say we are all equal, your posts suggest you mean in an animal farm sort of way.
