Cheers - so I can place the spare cores from Tamper (T and T - say green and white) into the AUX/Fault terminals currently looped as below - and does this mean I can remove that link:

I'm probably over thinking this as usual, but can't help thinking this will go a little pear shaped if I miss anything and then turn the system on (I've looped the bellbox speaker temporarily for when I finally test it - don't fancy annoying the neighbours on a Sunday!).

Many thanks.[/img]

You got it !

Hope so matey!
It's my daughters Birthday weekend so I haven't really had the chance to start on the programming (or wiring that additional speaker) but will start in the week. Last of the door contacts have been installed too (trickiest part of that was the chiselling and hole drilling for the inset contacts).

Briefly turned the system on via mains tonight (bell box 'decommissioned'!) and that at least lit up and was in working order. Tad concerned it might go pear shaped in the programming stage, but hopefully that Wintex software will help me along.

Hear's hoping you stick around in case I get in the ****!

Many thanks.

C u in the new year then !

Aye, looking forward to dipping my toes into Wintex  :D

I'll probably start this evening (hope it can be carried out a little at a time just in case I don't complete the test in one go?).

Just another quick question if ok?
I've attached the Pyronix Twin Alert last night as suggested:

Pyronix Alert Panel

T T Aux/Fault (say, green and white)
12v 12v
0v 0v
SPK Spkr on Aux (taking out panel speaker)
BA Tamp on Bell box terminal in panel

This worked - both the keypad and Pyronix were 'sounding' (obviously as not programmed).

Having taking out the link on the BellBox section of the panel (0v and Tamp) do I need to add that back in now (temporarily taken it out so I could fit the 0v from the Pyronix. So, there would be:

STRB connected to bell box
0v connected to Pyronix Twin and (possibly) the link to Tamp
Tamp connected to Pyronix - do I need to relink this to 0v?
Bell Connected to BellBox
12v Connected to Bellbox

EDIT - as both 0v and Tamp are being used by the Pyronix I'm assuming I don't have to relink the 0v and Tamp (which will when 'live' be fitted with the connections to the bell box again).

Many thanks.[/u]

The twin alert as in the name "twin" gives both speaker tones and alarm tones ......if you don't require one of the above don't connect it ! Eg bell or speaker

Ah - remember why I purchased it (over a year ago!) now.
Mainly for the two smoke zones, but also for alerts (including, if I can program it correctly, for back doors opening).
Just dawned on me that Bell and Speaker are indeed different elements.

If you get a moment, can you confirm that by now having the 0v and Tamp connected from the Pyronix Twin Alert, I no longer need to link these two (when testing the system so the bell box outside doesn't sound)?

Thanks again - much appreciated...will commence the programming at some stage this evening - Wintex up and running as we speak :)

Just leave your bell connection out in panel (should be 2 wires one for bell and one for twin alert) don't forget to put them back in!

Hi all,
just wanted to quickly jump on this very useful thread to double check one thing with my Odyssey 3E sounder I've fitted.

Wiring is all done at the sounder, just need to connect up to the panel. Just wanted to check if it's ok to do the following (and if the order is correct):

- Move Jumper JP1 "BATT" from the OFF position to the ON position
- Put the sounder cover back on (closing the tamper circuit at sounder end
- Connect the sounder to the control panel
- Turn on the control panel (as per instructions for a Premier 24 on commissioning)

Thanks sparkymarka

Alarm has comissioned this evening, and apart from a few zones originally singalling tamper all seems to be ok for the most part.

I do have one issue though: the PIR on Zone 8 (side bedroom) is currently raising a tamper alert.
The PIR is wired up in EOL (so +12v and 0v, with two cores for the alarm and tamper (left one of alarm, right one of tamper on PIR to Zone)

If i change the zone wiring via Wintex to something like Normally Open, the tamper alert is removed. However, as this is the wrong wiring setup the alarm will not set if i leave the zone configured like this.

Just wondering, what could the cause be for the tamper on Zone 8? I currently think it could be one of:
Damaged alarm cable
Damaged/dodgy PIR

unfortunately i dont have a spare PIR to test with, however i do have plenty of alarm cable so i could easily run a temp wire to it to test.
I guess i could take one of the other PIRs off temporarily to test, however its a bit late in the evening now and dont want to set the alarm off again (neighbours have young kids) - so might leave any remaining checks for tomorrow.

At least i know have an alarm where bellbox flashes outside :D

Lid not on or back tamper not seated depending on pir , go to engineer utilis and zone status what s in zone 8 ?

With sparkymarka here.

See what the status is and the value.

i suspect its not seeing the resistance properly/ break in cable as well as sparkymarka suggestion.

Check connections, pir seated properly and unit closed properly.

The details of the test suggested should help id the issue then take it from there.
