Vaillant "D" Settings help

The temps go up quickly as the boiler ignites on nearly 3/4 of full power (non adjustable) and runs up to high before settling to the D0 setting output, this in combination with low flow rate is the reason temps go up, and more often than not also the cause of noise.

Also wouldnt bother with the X200 IMHO, If its noisy its noisy for a reason, no point in trying to cover it up.

Many thanks I do appreciate your advice

I live in a very hard water area would it not help, long term to put x200 in or is it wasted?

Oh maybe your right there then, I live in a soft water area, never need to think about this stuff, I thought X200 was just noise reduces, but if its descaler then yea, prob best

Taken from the sentinel website

Boiler noise is an inconvenience for homeowners and can be an indicator of an underlying problem with the central heating system such as system design or mechanical faults. Once these have been ruled out as the cause of boiler noise the most common cause is a thin layer of limescale or other deposit inside the boiler. Sentinel X200 Noise Reducer is a highly successful treatment for curing the problem.

It is a non-acid, leave-in treatment; a gentler but still highly effective solution to this common problem. Treating boiler noise caused by deposits with Sentinel X200 Noise Reducer will also help to restore boiler efficiency.

Hi

Have now filled the system & added x800 left for a 3 days cleaning out the TF1 at the same time

Drained the system & flushed through & refilled & ran the system for 4 days with just water

Drained the system & took off all the rads & flushed them through with a hose until clear both ends

Refilled & added another bottle of x800 left for 3 days with heating on full then drained the system again as it was still dirty

Refilled with water and ran in the system for 2 more days still dirty
Drained system today & added another bottle of x800, I took off the stop end, to add the x800 & put my finger in the end of the rad & it left my finger completely black

Checked the filter after a few hours & the water is still completely black, don’t think I’m ever going to be able to get the system clean, even after 3 bottles of x800

The wilo pump was getting seized up (it’s only 3 years old) but managed to take it apart & free it up with lots of Teflon spray (it’s being changed once the system is clean with a grundfos)

3 port valve has become very slow, guessing it could be sludged up? I have a new one ready just in case it stops working

Should I know be looking at putting in new rads all round?

Thanks in advance

Dave
