Another straw man argument from grumbling old notch

I was making a worthwhile point that there needs to be a balance between being sympathetic to the section of society with gender issues and increasing public awareness without getting stupidly PC, but maintaing some sensible, pragmatic balance to the issue.

If you dont want to add to the discussion, but would rather pick out a section of text for the sole purpose of point scoring, thats your prerogative.
Its who you are, its what you love to do. :):):):):)

Has anyone thought about this?

The only difference in a "gender neutral"(stupid term) public toilet is, presumably, that it doesn't have urinals.
Well, I'm all for that; I don't want to stand next to several other men, who are invariably fatter than I am, while having a pιss.

Apart from that the objection to transgender people using public toilets is a perceived fear by women that people with penises will be using the ladies and this will encourage perverts to dress as women so that they might do the same without sanction.
It is therefore not really a consideration of transgender people that these toilets should be built but supposed fear of the consequences if they are not.

I suppose no man has ever feared that the other person in the toilets is actually a woman dressed as a man.

The only answer is separate individual toilets.

Being from London and having spent my entire life in this multicultural paradise I have many fears and that is one.

heard on the radio or the telly some ting about some school who is going to allow boys to wear dresses if they are confused about there genda

there was some other nonsense on the radio about a parent (mother) talking about her son (13) who now wishes to be a girl and wants to change his name to a girls name etc etc

Tis all a load of ball cocks imo & some people just need a kick up the arris.

I've known schools that allow girls to wear trousers, and even shirts with ties.

Also a school which has banned girls from wearing skirts.

I believe it was because the tarts were rolling them up too short, so rather than have an arbitrary length - trousers for everyone.

I read on the internet somewhere that someone wishes violence on children if they want to wear a dress or change their name.
Perhaps tranny thinks "he is the only gay in this village".

The official Guardian of the French Language The Academie Francaise has warned that the language is in "mortal danger" from gender neutral terminology

The controversy / comments were sparked by the publisher Hatier which re wrote a school text book using gender-equal grammatical forms

Wouldnt it be quite difficult to make the French language gender neutral?
I thought it was a language built on gender rules :)

Ok. Fair enough. :(

It was a tounge in cheek comment. I agree mostly about independant toilets all round, but what about the cost? Can you imagine the cost to a stadium to re-furb all their sh1tters to suit a change to the legislation? Don't confused people still have the option of uni-sex (disabled toilets) ?

I mean, really, amongst all this insanity people with these gender issues are suffering from mental health problems, should we really be pandering to them? If a bloke did come into a public toilet wearing a dress I'd assume he'd either been failed by the NHS, or just likes to look like a freak. So long as he doesn't try to rape anyone I don't have a personal problem with it. Surely a lot of these people have mental health problems, and just like to dress as they do for shock value, I'm sure you'd find weirdos still using stalls wearing dresses even if they were given the choice of a private cubicle.

As usual **** end thoroughly misrepresents the situation.
Apart from the fact that he has lifted the comments wholesale from another source without giving appropriate reference, he has not understood, or (again) intentionally misrepresented the comments of the Academie Francaise. What they are concerned about is the syntactic versions of words that would be required, leading to difficulty in reading, writing and speaking the French language. An example given in some sources is that several versions of the same noun would be required: e.g. amis, amies, or ami.e.s. The first two versions would refer to groups of friends who were either male, or female, but not a mixed group. That would require the third version.
Macron quite reasonably suggested additional punctuation so that we would refer to ‘ami.e.s’ rather than ‘amis’ when referring to two or more genders.

I would have to disagree strongly with the telegraph. It is not reasonable to introduce such multiple versions of words. Especially to "boost the French economy". I suspect it would increase illiteracy.
I would agree with the Acadamie Francaise. It is a nonsense which would create a confusion which borders on illegibility.
Taking note of the diffusion of an "inclusive writing" which claims to impose itself as a norm, the French Academy raises unanimously a solemn warning. The multiplication of the orthographic and syntactic marks that it induces leads to a disunited language, disparate in its expression, creating a confusion which borders on illegibility.

When they referred to the language being in 'mortal danger' they were suggesting that it would become so hard to read, write, speak and learn that future generations would look for another language that would be simpler, or the French language would be corrupted to something like txtspk.
On this occasion, it is less a guardian of the norm than a guarantor of the future that it raises a cry of alarm: in the face of this "inclusive" aberration, the French language is now in deadly danger, which our nation is now accountable to future generations.
