Looking to DIY remove the wall between our kitchen and dining room, and from what I've read and can see it's not load-bearing. Just looking for a second (third, fourth,...) opinion as I'm a little confused by the fact that the joist on top of it is different (smaller) to the other joists.

Quick plan of the house for reference:
Steps I took:
- Checked the floorboards:
- They run perpendicular to the wall
- Went upstairs and lifted a floorboard on top of the wall
- Joists run parallel to the wall
- Looked at the joist that is directly on top of the wall, which is where I'm getting a bit confused:
- First thing I noticed was that the joist on top of the wall is different to the adjacent joists (or at least the two I can see).
The red line always shows where the wall below it is
- Looking at the joist on top of the wall, I can see four layers (in this exact order, starting from the wall below):
- Foil backed plasterboard (I think)
- What looks like a single tongue and groove type plank (floorboard?)
- A joist with less height than the adjacent ones
- Another piece of timber that is laying flat on top
- First thing I noticed was that the joist on top of the wall is different to the adjacent joists (or at least the two I can see).
