John's wasn't to change the meaning. Yours was. But it's nice you can be bothered to actually use the quotation tools occasionally.

Oh FFS, WTF is wrong with you. Go away.

Think I'd rather regain my civil liberties and start interacting with my fellow man again rather than live scared of getting a dose of flu or the sniffles. Don't want the authorities feeling they have to proscribe my every movement any longer than necessary and having, bossy jobsworth security guards in shops, etc hassling me for 'my own safety' starts to grate quite quickly. What is it the Yanks say - "live free or die!"

nobody is scared of sniffles

As usual, Johnny, you totally missed the point. You need to re-read SX's post SLOWLY as he seems to almost enjoy lockdown (this is how much some people have been conditioned), and intimated that his health has improved as a result - in that lockdowns have helped him avoid normal, minor winter ailments. You completely missed this. Frequent hand washing/sanitising and avoiding touching face will help avoid colds and flu. I pointed out that I would take the risk of these minor ailments to regain the freedoms that I have enjoyed for over half a century. Did you do comprehension at school?

His post again, in case you missed it the first time -

I don't mind the lockdowns and the restrictions too much..

I think it's improved my health, I've haven't been ill (touch wood) with various colds etc as i would normally have been in a normal year .

I hope once we're all vaccinated we still keep some of the social distancing in shops and continue to wear masks and sanitise our hands.

P.S. And selective quoting, Johnny. Desperate, just desperate.

981 deaths and 50,023 new cases recorded yesterday. The deaths at least will be the paperwork catching up with Christmas.

But I'm sure some people will continue insisting it's nothing more than manflu.

Do these rising numbers mean that the lockdowns, masks, tiers and pub closures haven't worked? Have we crippled the economy, destroyed jobs, closed down shops and pubs, enriched the supermarkets and Amazon and filled the roads with dirty great white vans for nothing?
yes

Essex hospitals have been overwhelmed by people with sniffles.

no doubt some of them would have preferred to cut down on social interaction for a bit

rather than forever.

Others prefer to have the freedom of not protecting themselves and others against a potentially fatal illness.

Sorry I should expand myself,

I can't wait to get my freedoms back and be able to go where I like when I like (as long as I get approval from her Indoors :ROFLMAO:), go on holidays etc

But I would like the social distancing and and awareness of people's space and people and places of work being sanitary (instead of the dirty barstewards we have been) to continue long into the future.

I want to be able to go to the pub with friends, but be 2 meters away from the next roudy table instead of being rammed in like sardines etc

Hope this makes more sense than my first post, which I can see makes it sound like I'm having bags of fun locked in my 4 walls.
