Hi, first timer on here…hoping for some advice.
We’re currently converting our flat roof single attached garage (3m x 7m) into living accommodation, with pitch roof to join existing bungalow roof (so it looks all as one).
Existing end wall is 7m long and is 6” single skin block work without piers. Our builder wants to carry on and build the gable in 6” concrete block work, but we are concerned that it will make the wall too high (especially without piers).
Does anyone have any advice on timber vs Thermalite blocks for the gable, as they are less weight, instead of 6” concrete block work?
Thanks
