do people think the U.K. should continue with oil extraction?

I personally don’t agree with just stop oil, the fact is we need oil for so many chemicals in so many industries…..and it’s highly unlikely alternatives will take over for 50+ years.

I think we should produce oil, but continue with changing to renewable energy”

Your previous answer gave the impression it’s a bit complex for you
You only have a MSM opinion.

I’ve been through all this beforex weather charts, oil extraction, the damage extracting products for EV batteries,

Honestly! Clean energy is oil. The rest is just a pipe dream.

So you can figure out how to win my approval? What a poor sense of self worth you have.
I'm curious if anyone could meet your theoretical yardstick to not be classed as a hypocrite.

I don't believe you would accept any level of activity as being enough. You would simply demand more.

I blocked him long ago, and for those very reasons.

Exactly!
Harry says “I don’t want to talk about climate change even though I’m wrong “my mind is made up”
Harry says “I don’t want to talk about Brexit even though I’m wrong “my mind is made up”
Harry says “I don’t want to talk about people on benefits even though aim wrong “my mind is made up”

Yes, Harry blocks people because he can’t cop with having his uninformed views challenged.

I feel sorry for people with such narrow minds

“Pipe dream” very good :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It goes without saying what you’ve written is incorrect.

You are intellectually too weak to engage in adult debate, because you cling desperately to your narrow minded uninformed beliefs.

I guess it’s another product of your insecurity.

I do feel sorry for you

It's going to be something pathetic like, "I bought an organic salad for my lunch" isn't it?

And there we go ladies and gentleman, a 60 year old man acting like a 12 year old girl.

As expected

When the first commercial oil wells appeared the primary use was refining it into kerosene for use in lamps, it basically took over from whale oil. Then along came the motor car and the rest is history.

You seem to be saying let's not 'just stop oil', lets 'just stop oil by 80%'. Not sure how that would work out for oil companies, doesn't sound particularly commercially viable.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has found that emissions from fossil fuels are the dominant cause of global warming. In 2018, 89% of global CO2 emissions came from fossil fuels and industry.

Coal is a fossil fuel, and is the dirtiest of them all, responsible for over 0.3C of the 1C increase in global average temperatures. This makes it the single largest source of global temperature rise.

Oil releases a huge amount of carbon when burned - approximately a third of the world’s total carbon emissions. There have also been a number of oil spills in recent years that have a devastating impact on our ocean’s ecosystem.

Natural gas is often promoted as a cleaner energy source than coal and oil. However, natural gas is still a fossil fuel and accounts for a fifth of the world’s total carbon emissions.

Hypocrites and salads for lunch aside - it doesn't weaken the argument or make any of the rubbish you post any more plausible.

Just more tiresome deflective waffle.
