TAKING FOREVER TO GET HOT WATER - HALSTEAD COMBI

So would the most likely cause be the microswitch or the diverter valve diaphragm? To me it seems more probable that its the microswitch given the boiler firing up regularly without call?

TAKING FOREVER TO GET HOT WATER - HALSTEAD COMBI

No signs of dirt at all, the pin seems free on the dhw side. I have not had the DV valve in bits yet, would signs of dirt/water cause the boiler to fire up every five to ten minutes with no call for heat or hot water as this has been happening. Why do you need to change the water diaphragm...

    Fridge Freezer not cooling

I've just been at the back of the fridge and felt the compressor, which was red hot, this I imagine is activating the thermal cutout. Is this sort of temperature normal for a compressor, especially one so young? What could be the root cause of this?

    Fridge Freezer not cooling

I have an Indesit A+class upright fridge freezer, under 18 months old which seems to have completely ceased working. The fridge will only get luke warm and the freezer section is keeping the food only half frozen. I have removed the thermostat and linked out the wiring to eliminate this as a...

TAKING FOREVER TO GET HOT WATER - HALSTEAD COMBI

Based on this diagnosis, would you advise a new diverter valve or is it likely that this can be overcome with a new diaphragm? As I have found a diaphragm set for £12.50 and the entire valve is about £100!

TAKING FOREVER TO GET HOT WATER - HALSTEAD COMBI

For some time the boiler has been firing up every ten minutes or so, for about fifteen seconds even though there has been no call for heat or hot water. Could this also be attributed to a faulty diverter valve?

TAKING FOREVER TO GET HOT WATER - HALSTEAD COMBI

MY BOILER IS A HALSTEAD FINEST COMBI AND IT SEEMS TO TAKE AN ETERNITY TO GET HOT WATER. I HAVE TAKEN THE MICROSWITCH ASSEMBLY OFF AND OPERATED THIS MANUALLY AND THIS MAKES THE BOILER FIRE UP STRAIGHT AWAY. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO LIE WITHIN THE ASSEMBLY WHERE THE LITTLE FLOW OPERATED PLUNGER COMES...

CAN YOU CHANGE A MAINS GAS COOKER TO RUN ON LPG?

MY PARENTS ARE MOVING FROM A THREE BEDROOMED HOUSE TO A PARK HOME AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THEY WILL NEED THE JETS ADJUSTING ON THEIR EXISTING GAS COOKER TO COMPENSATE FOR THE CHANGE FROM MAINS GAS TO CALOR GAS. IS THIS THE CASE AND IF SO HOW IS IT DONE AND IS IT A CORGI JOB? CHEERS!

    HALSTEAD FINEST SAFETY LOCKOUT

:D Boiler fixed, removed the fan assembly and gave it a good clean out and it's working fine. Thanks to everyone who took the time to give their advice!

    HALSTEAD FINEST SAFETY LOCKOUT

Sounds expensive, do I need to buy a whole fan assembly or can I refurbish the existing one. If so can anyone recommend a good (cheap) parts supplier. Thanks

    HALSTEAD FINEST SAFETY LOCKOUT

Thanks Chris, I tried shorting the wires out on the air pressure switch and it fired up first time, do I now need to replace the switch or am I looking for an air blockage elsewhere?

    HALSTEAD FINEST SAFETY LOCKOUT

Cheers Corgiman, would you recommend replacing the thermistors first? Or is it a straight to PCB renewal job? Any idea why it doesn't even try to spark and goes straight to lockout.

    HALSTEAD FINEST SAFETY LOCKOUT

Firstly, the overheat thermostat hadn't cut out. The pressure gauge reads approx 1.5 bar The boiler hasn't been lower than 1.0 bar, and didn't need refilling after bleeding the rads, there was hardly any air in them. I have checked the fan, which is running, the pump feels like it is pumping...
