    Baxi Barcelona.....I know sorry !!

Hi mossman, I had a Barcelona for about 10 years, I got it changed for something a bit better in May this year. Bear in mind that I'm no plumber......I would guess that if it works sometimes, the green light is on and there's no fan noise, clicking or red light then it must think that it's up...

    Weather Compensation

Wow :o First of all, Im only an end-user/homeowner with an interest and who's recently had a Viessmann boiler & Weather comp fitted. I am not an experienced installer like D_Hailsham & ianniann. I may be guilty of using the incorrect terminology. First of all ianniann I fully accept that...

    Weather Compensation

Im not sure that you'll have a room stat, my 200 doesnt. You set a 'set-point' on the boiler control & it tries to match this by changing the flow temperature, measuring the outside temp & looking at the heatloss curve. Ive found that the system works best (for my situation) by leaving all...

    Weather Compensation

Im not sure why your radiator size would affect the functioning of weather compensation. I had a Viessmann 200-w fitted a couple of weeks ago & the weather comp tries to keep the radiators at a pre-determined temperature (according to the set-point, external temperature, heat loss graph etc)...

Black 22mm plastic pipe - insert required?

Hi Grunt, Im only a DIYer but I had to repair some half inch alkathene recently and was pointed (on this forum) to use a Philmac fitting. Admittedly I was joining onto mdpe but they do fittings to connect to copper as well. Also you dont require an insert for the alkathene part - I checked...

    Leak from water supply pipe

Hello, I have a mid-60s built bungalow that has a leak in the external water supply pipe (between the stop-cock & house). There is black plastic pipe running from the external stop-cock which is about 21mm diameter as best as I can tell, it joins to a 17mm black plastic pipe with a a brass...

    'mini-ring' circuit & cooker

Hi When doing some renovation work in the kitchen I put in a 'mini-ring' circuit to supply a future new cooker & dishwasher. The wiring is in standard 2.5mm2 and goes to a 32amp MCB in the consumer unit. There will be no outlets or other applances on the circuit. The time has now come to...
